Adjustment of the terms of use and request limits of *geo.admin.ch from 2025

From the 1st of January 2025, new General Terms of Use and Operating Conditions of the Federal Spatial Data Infrastructure (FSDI) and the geoservices of geo.admin.ch will come into force. One of the most important changes: the previous request limits will be doubled.

Following the security and performance upgrade in June 2024, the constant optimisation of our system and the ever-increasing use of map.geo.admin.ch, it was decided internally to increase the request limits. This step is intended to ensure that the majority of users continue to have free and unrestricted access to Switzerland's official geodata. This increase in the request limits will enable private individuals, companies, developers and research institutions to implement their applications and projects even more efficiently and with fewer restrictions.
