swisstopo Toolbox
«Geodata made easy» - The application provides an intuitive user interface that allows users to view addresses on the map with just a few clicks.
For example, an association might want to know where its members are located throughout Switzerland. The coordinates can be downloaded in one click or transferred to the Swisstopo map - accessible to everyone.
The current BETA version allows the following conversions:
- Address to coordinates
- Coordinates to address
- Coordinates conversion
- Address to EGID
- EGID to address
- Coordinates to height
- Address to height
A consolidated version with a full user manual will be available from mid-summer 2023.
geo.admin.ch is the platform for the federal administration's location-based information, data and services. These are made available by public institutions and made accessible to the public via the Internet on geo.admin.ch. While the services are easy to use for «professional users» (developers) and the map is available on map.geo.admin.ch for advanced users, it can be difficult to get started using the services.
The project team, made up of students from the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH) and the swisstopo Federal Office of Topography, has set itself the task of breaking down this barrier with its «Geodata Made Easy» project.
