New and updated datasets are available on the federal geoportal!

The following points are particularly important in this update:
- The new layer ch.bfe.energiestaedte-nachhaltige_areale has been published with this release. As previously announced, the layer ch.bfe.energiestaedte-2000watt-areale will be removed from CHSDI services with the October 28th release.
- The layer ch.bafu.alpweiden-herdenschutzhunde has been replaced by a new layer ch.bafu.alpweiden-mit_herdenschutzhunden with this release. It is currently still available with its data status frozen from spring 2026, but will be removed from CHSDI services (including WMTS) in a later release. The new layer ch.bafu.alpweiden-mit_herdenschutzhunden is automatically updated on a countinous basis and therefore available via mapviewer, WMS, API, and STAC, but not via WMTS.
- As previously announced, the layer ch.swisstopo.geologie-geocover will be removed in a later release. It is being replaced by six new layers representing swisstopo's product swissGEOCOVER2D. These new layers are now available.
- The data collections ch.bfs.betriebszaehlungen-arbeitsstaetten, ch.bfs.betriebszaehlungen-beschaeftigte_vollzeitaequivalente and ch.bfs.volkszaehlung-bevoelkerungsstatistik_einwohner have been replaced by two new data collections ch.bfs.betriebszaehlungen and ch.bfs.statistik-bevoelkerung_haushalte. They will therefore soon be removed from the STAC service while the corresponding layers in the mapviewer, WM(T)S, and API remain in place.
