Go-Live of the new map viewer
The map viewer will be updated in the second half of June 2024.
The upgrade is primarily characterised by a comprehensive renewal of the used technologies. In addition, proven functionalities such as importing external content, the 3D view or the position display as well as security will be further improved.
The new map viewer has been available to test for several months at test.map.geo.admin.ch. This service has been used intensively and the geoportal team would like to thank all users for this. The helpful feedback received provided important information for the modernisation of the map viewer.
If you use the map viewer for more complex applications and want to ensure that everything works as usual after the go-live, we recommend that you test your applications extensively in advance at test.map.geo.admin.ch.
The new version of the map viewer will provide a solid basis for future developments and will allow us to optimally fulfil the constantly growing requirements.
