Solidago canadensis, Erigeron annuus etc.: Potential distribution maps of invasive alien plants (FOEN).

Link to the map: map.geo.admin.ch

Neophytes are plants that have been intentionally introduced or accidentally introduced since the discovery of the Americas (1492) and have subsequently gone wild. The majority of these alien plants are well integrated into our environment and have enriched the native flora. However, a few of the new plants can behave invasively: They spread widely and displace native flora. This has a negative impact on the environment, public health, and/or the economy.

The potential distribution maps of invasive neophytes are the result of model-based tool to anticipate the spread of invasive alien plants listed on the Swiss Black and Watch list.
